Jeffreys Bay Area Attractions & Activities

Make day trips to the Tsitsikamma Forest, the well known Monkey Land and Birds of Eden, Storms River Mouth, Plettenberg Bay or Knysna to the west, the Gamtoos River Route, Port Elizabeth and the Addo Elephant National Park to the east.

In Jeffreys Bay itself dolphins regularly surf the waves and whales can be seen between July and October.

During beach walks you can collect exquisite Seashells.

Take a drive or a tour through the magnificent Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area. This, with an overnight stay, makes an ideal two-day side trip.

Sporting facilities in Jeffreys Bay include tennis, golf, bowls and squash at the country club, excellent golf courses nearby, windsurfing on the two lagoons and, naturally, fishing and ski-boating.

J'Bay is also the centre of South Africa's Tjokka (Calamari) industry.

Jeffreys Bay has a thriving handcraft industry and the shops / factory shops offer brand name surfing gear, beachwear, leather products and pottery. It is the home base of the well known manufacturers of surfing gear such as Billabong.

For Nature and Hiking enthusiasts there are 4 Game/Nature Reserves within easy range:
